The Apocalypse, The Revelations, 2012, Mayan Doomsday, what do they have in common? The earth will then end due to some catastrophic events that would occur. Would this be just a myth or would this really incur true sightings of what will happen in the future? A lot of studies flung here and there as what could be the causes of these speculations or truth as they may say, yet no one really knows the answer.

At most circumstances, science combined with technology was taken account to contradict the bible yet people use them together as a source of input as to what information to dig on. Nostradamus prophecy was revealed and adapted to be true and his credibility was taken into account if he is a prophet or just some skeptic thinker of his time. The Mayan calendar particularly their “long count calendar” becomes a major form of debate among the scholars, astrologists and some scientists. It is said that the relics which was decoded and translated to Gregorian calendar says that doomsday will occur on December 21, 2012. It was said, that all that is written by the Mayan priests during their time are just coincidence of what happened in the past were famine, war and plagues are predicted by the Mayan tribe. What enables them to take account and produce difference types of calendars is through their accuracy of noting records of the night sky especially documenting the phases of moon, eclipses and movement of Venus which is the Maya’s basis for calendar cycle. With all the presented facts and hypes, the question is how will the earth die and when was it?

Water, fire and great escapes are some of the features found on the film 2012, but will this film come to reality? It was said that the changes in the Sun's magnetic field will lead to powerful flares and it will be a source to make earth disappear. Scientist contradicts this by saying that even though that the next cycle for the 11 year sunspot cycle will occur in 2012, the earth will not be affected due to the atmosphere who covered us. During the winter solstice as what is written in the Mayan Calendar, the sun will align with the galactic equator during this time and in effect, more comets might enter earth and will be the cause of its deterioration. Astronomical wise, there are a lot of shifts and drifts presented by the experts just to prove and disapprove that doomsday will happen.
