Thank author of this post/comment

Originated in China about two thousand years ago, Feng shui is a popular system of aesthetics incorporating positive qi to improve one's life. Feng shui has become an integral part of various industries from architecture, building development to interior decoration and attitude. Meteorologist of Imperial of China studied the 'Yin' and 'Yang', and its effects in the environment. The knowledge of Feng shui only belonged to the nobles of Ancient China before. The knowledge of harnessing positive energy and controlling it to bring wealth, power, and health are exclusive only to the imperial families. China's commoners know little about Feng shui but or later became part of their culture and tradition.

The idea of Feng shui comes with the circulation of Qi (pronounced as “Chi”) which means energy. The goal is to use some means of barriers to prevent Qi from being disperses by earth’s elements like the wind and use water to preserve it for good use. There are a lot of positive effects associated with Feng shui, but there are no chants, charms, mystical objects or mirrors that might be associated with it. Feng shui master uses only the five Chinese elements of wood, earth, fire, water and metal to bring up the Qi balance inside one's property (house).

Feng shui is not a religion. Since a large number of China's population are Taoist, Taoism is their belief system. Feng shui is only under Taoism and combined in the Taoist principles. Taoists can apply the principles of Feng shui in their ceremony as mentioned above but this does not mean that by applying this principle makes one a religious or devote Taoist. Feng shui does not have a divine aspect. This is important for people to know as there are con artists posing as Feng shui masters taking advantage of people's ignorance to what really Feng shui is and is made fool of by asking victims to consider Feng shui as a religion.

Although Feng shui is set aside to conform to modern urban planning. In Ancient China, people solely depend all their architecture and planning on Feng shui readings but now it is different. Traditional Feng shui are still be incorporated nowadays mostly by Chinese families and those who believe in the concept of chi. Feng shui does not guarantee to bring wealth to a person; however, this can create harmony and good flow of energy.
