Do you hear strange noises or mysterious voices? Don’t scare yourself. It’s not yet Halloween but you will learn what’s causing them. Here are some household problems that scare some people but little do they know that it’s just because of natural causes, not paranormal ones. Mystery #1: Your Doors Open Unexpectedly If you’re thinking a spirit entered your room, you’re thinking wrong. It may be because your door is breathing. This is common in the winter when the heating system evaporates moisture in the wood, causing doors to contract and become unlatched. This can also be due to a slight breeze. When other doors open or close, it can fluctuate indoor air pressure, making another door to move. Bad hardware can also be a reason. Mystery#2: Weird Voices You’re probably just tired. Lack of sleep can make you think you’re hearing things. It could also be that your electronics are talking back. Not talking back in the I-will-kill-you-while-you-sleep way. Radio waves can obstruct audio devices, meaning you could be watching TV and then a walkie-talkie sound cut in. This could also be due to your aquarium. The sound could be made by your water filter releasing air, creating sounds just like voices. Mystery #3: Sudden, Drastic Change in Temperature Various lighting levels or strong contrasts (bright light in one area of a room and a dark one in another) can play tricks on your mind, making you think that a room seem colder or hotter. Poor insulation can also be reason. Mystery #4: Moving Objects Could it really be an actual ghost? Is it a poltergeist? This is usually caused by outright trickery. A tired person frequently has poor memory thus making them forget where they leave things. It could also be your pet cat or dog, or even cars. Most moving objects are caused by vibrations from passing vehicles or naughty pets bringing your things to wherever they feel like it. Mystery #5: Banging or Scratching Sounds and Footsteps Don’t get nervous. It could be the neighbors just partying or doing something you don’t know they would be doing (e.g. rearranging wall ornaments). Your home can also be a pest haven as there could be squirrels or chipmunks making your attic their vacation spot. You can talk about...
