Haunted Houses to Visit

If you believe in ghosts and you’re one of those “to see is to believe” type of person then here are some of the haunted places on earth you’d want to put on your to visit list. Visit them at your own risk.

The RMS Queen Mary (Long Beach, California)

This enormous ship has been docked since 1967. During World War II, the RMS Queen Mary was driven under the alias of “Grey Ghost” and transporting troops across the seas. Try booking a cabin in this ship, making a reservation for dinner, or just having a guided ghost tour to see for yourself where the spirits have been hiding.

Lizzie Borden House (Fall River, Massachusetts)

Situated 50 miles south of Boston, this place is where the murders of Andrew and Abby Borden took place in 1892. Although found to be not guilty of the murders, Lizzie Borden was the prime suspect in the gruesome deaths of her father and stepmother. Reserve a room at this bed and breakfast to find out if the place is really haunted. You'll even be served the same breakfast Andrew and Abby ate on the day they were murdered. Or if you’re too terrified to spend the night in this place, sign up for one of the daily tours.

Thornewood Castle (Lakewood, Washington)

In 1900s, business mogul Chester Thorne invested a million dollars in building a home to resemble a fifteenth-century medieval castle on American Lake. The 27,000-square-foot mansion is situated on acres of land and was the residence for Chester, his wife, Anna, and their daughter, Anita. It has been said that Chester loved his home so much that he never left the house (even after his death). Have an overnight stay or reserve a ticket for the Dinner and Murder Mystery or the Candlelight Castle Mystery Tour and find out if the rumors are true.

Big Nose Kate Saloon (Tombstone, Arizona)

The saloon is built where the Grand Hotel once stood. Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and Ike Clanton were just a few of the notorious guests who checked into this popular hotel during the 1800s. It was also the permanent residence for the Swamper, the hotel’s janitor and handyman. Some even believe that the Swamper never left the property. See for yourself by stopping in for a drink, having a bite to eat, or making reservations for the Halloween Costume Ball and Buffet.
