Intelligent Design - Bridge to Science and Religion?

Have you ever wondered where everything really came from? There are many theories of how things started to exist and both the scientific community and religious sectors have many different versions of it.

But in the recent years another theory surfaced that could bridge the gap between science and religion. A supposition states that everything in the universe both living and non-living has a purpose and is perfectly crafted by an Intelligent Designer (ID).

The theory is not new as you, Ancient Greeks were debating since of the idea of a supreme being. Theologians like Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero has their own versions. In the 13th century by Thomas Aquina expressed in his Summa Theologiae. And in the 1800s when William Paley who used the watchmaker analogy which has led to the development of what was called the natural theology.

The ID theory is the direct enemy of Darwinism which discards a designer completely due to imperfections found on nature. ID suggest that everything in the world and in the universe had specifically set and fine tuned to permit life to flourish. Advocates of ID insist that the theory is not a re-make of Creationism. They don't base they arguments on some religious text but on observations seen on nature.

It has gained attention and controversy in this past decades. Secular proponents argue that ID is a scientific theory should be taught schools. In 1987, the Supreme Court of United States ruled that teaching creation science in Louisiana is unconstitutional because it has religious intention.

Until now, most in the scientific community believes that ID is not science and indeed a pseudoscience. The theory won't even be considered as scientific theory because it fail the criteria: explanatory power, falsifiability, and plausibility. It all failed to satisfy the three. ID merely relies on non-natural forces and how things were designed in the first place. The strongest argument with ID is the origin of the designer is if an intelligent designer designed everything then who design it.
